John Kuhn

Jack Kuhn has responsibility for professional lines business across AXIS Insurance globally. He oversees two specialty units in the United States (AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions and AXIS Financial Institutions) and professional lines operations in Europe and Bermuda. Jack has successfully led AXIS’ professional lines expansion since joining the company in February 2003, when Kemper’s Financial Insurance Solutions unit became part of AXIS U.S. Insurance. Prior to the acquisition, he was President of Kemper Financial Insurance Solutions. He had been part of a team of three that founded that unit in November of 1999, and he formerly served as Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer of Kemper Financial Insurance Solutions before being chosen to lead the unit in August 2000. His previous experience also includes 13 years at Chubb. Jack began his career as an underwriter in Chubb’s Executive Protection Department and later became Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer of Chubb Executive Risk. A member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) since 1995, Mr. Kuhn has served on the PLUS Board of Trustees since November of 2003.

Fred Cooper
Executive Vice President
AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions
 
Fred Cooper is Executive Vice President of AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions (FIS), a leading provider of Directors & Officers Insurance, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability and other executive protection coverages for commercial accounts. As head of the FIS unit, he directs financial lines strategy and has management responsibility for five regional underwriting teams across the United States. He had been Senior Vice President of Underwriting for AXIS FIS before being promoted to his current position in March 2007, and previously served as the unit's Senior Vice President of Commercial Middle Market Accounts and product manager for Private Equity & Venture Capital Liability business. Prior to joining AXIS FIS in 2003, Fred was Vice President and Country Development Manager in the Specialty Casualty Division of Liberty International Underwriters, Inc. Fred also formerly held positions at National Union and Aon.

Edward Talarico
Senior Vice President – Underwriting

Ed Talarico oversees a Product Team responsible for supporting the AXIS Professional Lines Division, which consists of the Financial Insurance Solutions and Financial Institutions units in the United States, as well as AXIS Professional Lines Europe and AXIS Professional Lines Bermuda. Reporting directly to Jack Kuhn, CEO of the Professional Lines Division of AXIS Insurance, Ed was appointed to this position in November of 2007. He previously served as Senior Vice President and New York Regional Manager of AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions since joining AXIS in February 2003. He also served as Vice President and New York Regional Manager when the Financial Insurance Solutions unit was part of Kemper. He joined Kemper Financial Insurance Solutions in January 2000 as Assistant Vice President and Underwriting Manager in the New York Region. Prior to working at Kemper, Ed was with Chubb’s Executive Protection Department where he held various underwriting and management positions in the New York Region.

Thomas Sicard
Senior Vice President

Tom Sicard works with the AXIS FIS field underwriters to drive business development among large commercial public D&O/Fiduciary Liability accounts (companies with revenues of $750 million or more). Tom also serves as the FIS product manager for all monoline Employment Practices Liability accounts and all privately held business. He has responsibility for establishing commercial underwriting guidelines and for training and marketing initiatives. Prior to joining FIS in October 2001, Tom spent eight years at Chubb, where he held a variety of management and underwriting positions in the company's branch offices in Kansas City, Hartford, Albany and New York City. Tom also previously worked seven years for Vermont National Bank.

Ryan Becker
Senior Vice President - Regional Manager

Ryan Becker leads a team of underwriters based in Alpharetta, GA, who handle AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions (FIS) business in AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC and TN. Prior to being promoted to this role in November 2007, he served as Vice President and Underwriting Manager of the FIS unit’s Southeast Region for over three years. Ryan joined FIS as a Senior Underwriter in the Southeast Region in 2000 when the unit was part of Kemper, and later held Underwriting Manager and Assistant Vice President positions in the FIS New York Region before moving back to Georgia in August 2004. He also previously was an Underwriter and Senior Underwriter in National Union’s Middle Market Division and worked as a broker at Swett & Crawford in Atlanta.

Wiiliam Corney
Senior Vice President – Regional Manager

Bill Corney has management responsibility for a team of underwriters who handle AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions (FIS) business in New York City and Long Island, as well as in Westchester and Rockland counties. He joined AXIS FIS in November 2007 from Travelers where he was a Managing Director of Public Company Liability in New York. In this role, Bill was responsible for the underwriting of Directors & Officers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Commercial Crime Insurance for publicly traded commercial accounts. Prior to Travelers, Bill was a Vice President at Gulf Insurance Company, also in New York. Bill started his insurance career in 1989 as a Senior Underwriter for AIG and went on to hold various underwriting and management positions at CNA and Allianz.

Mike Herlihy

Mike Herlihy manages a team of Financial Insurance Solutions underwriters in Chicago who handle business throughout the Central part of the United States. This territory includes AR, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, OK, SD, TX and WI. A native of the Midwest, Mike has served as Senior Vice President and FIS Central Regional Manager since January 2006. He previously was Vice President and Product Manager of the public D&O and public Fiduciary Liability books of business in the FIS Home Office in Berkeley Heights, NJ. He joined AXIS in 2003 as Vice President and Underwriting Manager in the FIS Western Region with responsibility for the Northern California and Pacific Northwest territory, and he served in a similar capacity when the FIS unit was part of Kemper. Mike also worked eight years at Great American Insurance Group in Chicago. .

John Holt

A veteran of the insurance industry, John Holt has over 25 years of financial lines expertise. Located in Berkeley Heights, NJ, John manages a team of underwriters who handle AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions business in CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY (excluding NYC, Long Island, and Westchester and Rockland counties), PA, RI, VA, VT and WV. John has served as Vice President and FIS Northeast Regional Manager since January 2000. Prior to that, he was with Chubb for 18 years. John began his career at Chubb in the Crime Department and then went on to hold various underwriting and management positions in the Executive Protection Department, including serving in a senior underwriting role for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic territory.

Marty Maslanka

Located in Los Angeles, Marty Maslanka manages a team of underwriters who handle AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions business in AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA and WY. Marty has over 22 years of insurance industry experience, having served as FIS Western Regional Manager since February 2000 and having worked at Chubb for 15 years prior. Marty's tenure at Chubb included 6 years of experience in the Dublin and London insurance markets. He also held a variety of domestic underwriting and management positions at Chubb, including serving as the Southern California Regional Executive Protection Manager.
