John A. Kuhn
Chief Underwriting Officer, AXIS Insurance

As CUO of AXIS Insurance, Mr. Kuhn is responsible for the establishment and oversight of underwriting policy and the deployment of capital allocated to AXIS Insurance. He also continues to serve as Global Practice Leader for AXIS Professional Lines. Mr. Kuhn has over 25 years of insurance underwriting experience. Prior to taking on the CUO role, he was a division head within AXIS Insurance. He also has been Global Practice Leader for AXIS Professional Lines since 2003 when this business was established through a renewal rights transaction with Kemper Financial Insurance Solutions. Formerly, Mr. Kuhn had been President of Kemper Financial Insurance Solutions and was one of the founders of that unit in 1999. He also previously held management and underwriting positions within the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies' Executive Protection/Executive Risk department. An active member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), Mr. Kuhn served on the PLUS Board of Trustees from 2003 through 2009.

John Van Decker
Executive Vice President
North American Professional Lines
John Van Decker is responsible for oversight of AXIS Insurance’s professional lines underwriting units in the U.S. and Bermuda. He is based in Berkeley Heights, NJ, and reports to Jack Kuhn. John formerly worked at Catlin U.S. where he developed and led various professional liability and management liability lines. Prior to joining Catlin in 2006, he served as President of the Professional Liability Division of Quanta U.S. Holdings, Inc. responsible for a broad array of management and professional liability insurance product lines. He also previously held management and underwriting positions at CNA Pro and AIG’s National Union subsidiary. John is a member of PLUS and a frequent speaker on various professional liability topics.

Edward Talarico
Executive Vice President
AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions
Edward Talarico has overall management responsibility for AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions, which consists of five regional commercial accounts underwriting teams throughout the nation. Ed has over 18 years of experience in the professional lines insurance industry, having begun his career within Chubb’s Executive Protection Department and then working with Financial Insurance Solutions (FIS) for nearly the past 10 years. He was part of the core group that first comprised the FIS regional structure in 2000 before the unit became part of AXIS in 2003. During his tenure at AXIS, Ed has held FIS regional management as well as home office Professional Lines positions. Prior to becoming head of AXIS FIS, he had been Senior Vice President for AXIS PRO managing the field operations for their MPL, Media and Tech products. Ed also is active in PLUS on both the local and national levels. He has been a Director of the PLUS Foundation since November 2006 and was elected to serve on the PLUS Board of Trustees in November of 2009.

Fred Murnane
Senior Vice President - Underwriting
AXIS Professional Lines
Fred Murnane oversees a Product Team responsible for supporting AXIS Professional Lines, which consists of the Financial Insurance Solutions, Financial Institutions and AXIS PRO units in the United States, as well as AXIS Professional Lines Europe and AXIS Professional Lines Bermuda. Based in Berkeley Heights, N.J., he reports directly to Jack Kuhn, CEO of the North America Division of AXIS Insurance. Fred joined AXIS in November of 2009 after nearly 15 years with Zurich North America. At Zurich, he served as Senior Vice President & Chief Underwriting Officer for management liability lines, including D&O Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability and Commercial Crime. Prior to his career at Zurich, Fred held positions at AIG and Merrill Lynch.

Thomas Sicard

Tom Sicard is part of a Product Team that supports AXIS Professional Lines, consisting of the Financial Insurance Solutions, Financial Institutions and AXIS PRO units in the United States, as well as AXIS Professional Lines Europe and AXIS Professional Lines Bermuda. He is based in Berkeley Heights, N.J. Prior to joining the Financial Insurance Solutions unit in October 2001, Tom spent eight years at Chubb, where he held a variety of management and underwriting positions in the company's branch offices in Kansas City, Hartford, Albany and New York City. He also previously worked seven years for Vermont National Bank.

Wiiliam Corney
Senior Vice President – Regional Manager

Bill Corney has management responsibility for a team of underwriters who handle AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions (FIS) business in New York City and Long Island, as well as in Westchester and Rockland counties. He joined AXIS FIS in November 2007 from Travelers where he was a Managing Director of Public Company Liability in New York. In this role, Bill was responsible for the underwriting of Directors & Officers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Commercial Crime Insurance for publicly traded commercial accounts. Prior to Travelers, Bill was a Vice President at Gulf Insurance Company, also in New York. Bill started his insurance career in 1989 as a Senior Underwriter for AIG and went on to hold various underwriting and management positions at CNA and Allianz.

Mike Herlihy
Senior Vice President – Regional Manager

Mike Herlihy manages a team of Financial Insurance Solutions underwriters in Chicago who handle business throughout the Central part of the United States. This territory includes AR, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, OK, SD, TX and WI. He also has oversight for the FIS Southeast Region, which encompasses business in leads a team of underwriters based in Alpharetta, GA, who handle AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions business in AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC and TN. A native of the Midwest, Mike has served as Senior Vice President and FIS Central Regional Manager since January 2006. He previously was Vice President and Product Manager of the public D&O and public Fiduciary Liability books of business in the FIS Home Office in Berkeley Heights, NJ. He joined AXIS in 2003 as Vice President and Underwriting Manager in the FIS Western Region with responsibility for the Northern California and Pacific Northwest territory, and he served in a similar capacity when the FIS unit was part of Kemper. Mike also worked eight years at Great American Insurance Group in Chicago.

Dennis Reding, Jr., RPLU

Denny Reding was promoted to Vice President of the Southeast Region for AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions in April 2010. In this position, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the FIS Southeast Region underwriting team in Alpharetta, Ga. He reports to Mike Herlihy and has repsonsibility for business in AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC and TN. With strong broker and client relationships, Denny has served as Assistant Vice President within the FIS Southeast Region since 2008. Over the years, he has played an integral role in enhancing our capabilities throughout the Southeast Region. Prior to joining AXIS in 2006, Denny held professional lines underwriting positions at St. Paul Insurance Company and St. Paul Travelers.

John Holt

A veteran of the insurance industry, John Holt has over 25 years of financial lines expertise. Located in Boston, John manages a team of underwriters who handle AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions business in CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY (excluding NYC, Long Island, and Westchester and Rockland counties), PA, RI, VA, VT and WV. John has served as Vice President and FIS Northeast Regional Manager since January 2000. Prior to that, he was with Chubb for 18 years. John began his career at Chubb in the Crime Department and then went on to hold various underwriting and management positions in the Executive Protection Department, including serving in a senior underwriting role for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic territory.
