Introduction and Overview

At AXIS we recognize the need to provide the highest quality claims service to our clients. To meet this need we have retained some of the most respected claims individuals in the insurance and reinsurance industry. 

AXIS' best-practice approach to claims handling ensures that we are able to perform our claims duties to the highest standards of expediency and integrity. The professional manner in which AXIS handles claims is consistent across all our diverse product lines, in all our locations around the globe. We handle claims in six locations: Bermuda, Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, Dublin and London.

Bermuda is a key location for much of the connectivity that exists within AXIS. With a blend of permanent staff and long term outsource partners, we are able to co-ordinate our activities, in co-operation with our US and European Claims teams, to provide the high level of service required. 

The claims operations for our rapidly growing US operation are headquartered in Atlanta. The US Insurance and Reinsurance teams have considerable experience in all our lines of property and casualty business. Our New Jersey team are also particularly strong in the professional lines of D&O, E&O and EPL. 

The European operation is headquartered in Dublin. The team has extensive working knowledge of Aviation, Marine, Energy, Property and Specialty classes of Insurance and Reinsurance business. Our European team travel extensively throughout the world to assist in the resolution of varied and complex claims.

The AXIS office in London plays two important claims roles. The first is to service the business written into our London Branch, and the second is to coordinate the administration of all London-sourced business. This administrative work is largely performed by our long-term outsource partner, Xchanging (www.xchanging.com). The partnership with Xchanging has allowed us to concentrate on core claims activities, whilst still ensuring accurate and timely processing. 

Our team of nineteen senior claims professionals have over 350 years of collective claims experience. The structure of the group, and its common platform for communication, allow this experience to be utilized very effectively. The team exert influence in every claim handled, regardless of whether AXIS is in a lead position or not.

Unlike many other insurance companies, there are no barriers to communication at AXIS. All our claims personnel are in constant contact with our underwriters. Experience has shown us that, by acting in concert, we are frequently able to provide innovative solutions to seemingly impossible problems. 

We greatly value constructive relationships with our clients and frequently travel great distances to resolve difficult problems and negotiate acceptable settlements. With our clients help, we are able to investigate and pay valid claims efficiently.
