Strachan
Executive Vice President, Chief Claims Officer
Richard Strachan has been Chief Claims Officer for AXIS since April 2002. He is a member of our Executive Management Group and is also the Chairman of our Group Reserving Committee. Richard has 23 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Prior to joining AXIS, he managed claims for Syndicates 488 and 2488 at Lloyd’s from 1985 to 1997, firstly with Charman Underwriting Agencies and subsequently at Tarquin PLC. Following the acquisition of Tarquin PLC by ACE Ltd, he served as claims Team Leader for ACE Global Markets in London.
John Intondi, CPCU
Executive Vice President, AXIS Insurance Claims Director
John Intondi is responsible for the management of all U.S. claims activities. Prior to joining AXIS, he was Senior Vice President of Claims at Combined Specialty Group’s P&C division, Royal Specialty and ACE USA, where he also served as a member of the Board of Directors. John has held a variety of senior positions at Crum and Forster, Western World Insurance Company and Consolidated Mutual Insurance Company. He is also the AXIS representative to the Excess and Surplus Lines Claims Association and is an active member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC).
David Hayward, ACII
Executive Vice President, AXIS Insurance Claims Manager
David Hayward is responsible for managing all European claims activities. David previously held the senior positions of Claims Manager for Newmarket Underwriting, Group Claims Director for Hiscox and Marine Claims Manager for ACE London. David also spent 15 years at Lloyd's Claims Office in a number of roles including Deputy Manager of the Claims Liability Group and Deputy Manager of the Claims Energy and Onshore Property Group. He is also an accredited Mediator for C.E.D.R.
Frederick M. Zauderer, Esq.
Senior Vice President, Claims Manager – Professional Lines
As Senior Vice President of Professional Lines Claims, Fred Zauderer brings his 30 years of experience to managing a team of 14 attorneys handling D&O, EPL, FI E&O, Fiduciary and Fidelity claims. Prior to joining AXIS, he held various claims management positions at Travelers, Gulf, Kemper, Reliance and Chubb. Fred is an attorney licensed in New York and is an active member of PLUS. He is also Vice-Chair of the Professionals’, Officers’, and Directors’ Liability Committee of the Tort, Insurance and Trial Practice Section of the American Bar Association.
John Isachsen
Senior Vice President, AXIS Insurance Claims
John Isachsen joined AXIS in 2007 and specialises in worldwide Property Claims. He has over 20 years of claims experience attained at the Benfield Group and formerly at Faraday Underwriting where he assisted in managing their worldwide property claim exposures.
James Parker
Senior Vice President, Zurich Claims Manager
James Parker has over 10 years industry experience and previously worked both in legal practice and with a leading Loss Adjusting firm, before joining Winterthur International (later XL Global Risks) in 2000, where he served as Casualty Claims Controller in London. He was then transferred to the Global Claims Head Office in Switzerland, where he took up the role of Senior Claims Consultant for the UK/RoW and later Continental European regions. He also headed up a series of global initiatives within the Global Claims team, before joining AXIS in May 2005 to head up the new European Re Claims operation in Zurich.
