William A. Fischer
|
 William A. Fischer has 24 years of reinsurance industry experience and has been with AXIS since the Company’s inception. He returned to the U.S. in June 2011 assuming the new role of Chief Underwriting Officer for AXIS Re globally and becoming CEO of AXIS Re U.S. in New York. Previously, he was based in Bermuda where he served as CEO of AXIS Re and CEO of AXIS Re Bermuda. Mr. Fischer began his career at Skandia America Reinsurance in 1987 as a treaty underwriter, where he worked until November 1991. From November 1991 to October 1994, he was Vice President of Treaty Property Underwriting at Transatlantic Reinsurance Company. Mr. Fischer served as Executive Vice President with responsibilities for property, accident and health, and financial products at Everest Re Group, Ltd. from October 1994 to May 2001. He then became Senior Vice President of the Broker Market Group of American Re, where he was responsible for all property business, until joining AXIS in late 2001. |
